WELCOME

If life before eternity is the practice field, then faith-based communities are the teams providing heaven-bound lessons. Community comes together, not displaying differences, but sharing commonalities. We unite through accepted belief that God chose us before the foundation of the world to be His (Ephesians 1:4). We gather as one family to spiritually mature, physically support, and emotionally care.

Jesus is on the field, covered in the sweat of his blood. He guides us, unprotected head gouged by thorns, on the way to the cross. He relinquishes every ounce of strength and self for us.

Buffalo Mountain shaded my young heart with peace when I wrote poetry. My father took notice of an early love for words and gifted me a book of poems on my 13^th Valentine’s Day.

I remember precious hours reading the works of masters named Shakespeare, Keats, and others. Walt Whitman’s poem “I think I could turn and live with animals” reached deep into both mind and heart. The poem’s accompanying picture of wild horses grazing in dappled sunlight stirred my young soul.

In the days before Elvis, the “King of Rock and Roll,” died, I pierced my ears. Numerous decades later, an attempt to wear earrings resulted in blood droplets, due to one closed hole sporting regrown skin.

Abandoning the effort, I climbed in my car to attend a wedding shower. Dead battery. Hours earlier, I discovered an unfixable (for me) glitch, in my author website. This trifecta of trouble did not bring gratitude to mind as my first and best reaction.
